Geriatricians specialize in the care of the elderly. The salaries are pretty great too. The national average for Geriatricians is about $155,000. As for school, Geriatricians attend a 4 year residency in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Psychiatry. Then completing a 2 year fellowship in Geriatrics. Also, be on the look out for programs organized by the states, to encourage more students to become Geriatricians, because there is not enough Geriatricians to keep up with the need.
